As active, motivated, generous souls we want to make a difference in our communities, and in the world around us.

We believe in the power of our bodies and wallets to shift a paradigm, to add to the bank balance of a cause, to increase the chance that a cure can be found, or to help a person who wants to change their life.

Below are some fundraising pages that support causes we believe in. Please find one that speaks to you and help us make a difference in the lives of our broader community and the world!

Both the TREK and LIFEFLIGHT SWIM are events that Mish is the Team Captain for, so if you want to join in and add your effort, muscle and endurance to the cause, please email tribe @ happieroutside.com!

TREK ACROSS MAINE, JUNE 2018.

HEADING OUT ON TREK 2017

HEADING OUT ON TREK 2017

The Trek Across Maine is a 3-day, 180 mile cycling event from the mountains of Sunday River to the sea in Belfast. As the largest fundraising event of its kind in the nation for the American Lung Association, the Trek has raised more than $22 million in the past 30 years. Join more than 2,000 cyclists and 750 volunteers on this one of a kind journey on Father’s Day Weekend.

Mish, and a team of friends and coworkers from Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, are doing the Trek again this year. Mish's dad is suffering from Emphysema and so the motivation is very personal - any dollars raised will go toward research for finding cures to lung disease which is close to her heart.

Date: June 15 - 17, 2018
Start Location: Sunday River Ski Resort - Newry, ME
Finish Location: Steamboat Landing - Belfast, ME

Islesboro Crossing - LIFEFLIGHT OF MAINE. AUGUST 2018.

On August 12, 2018, I’m joining hundreds of other swimmers in the 5km crossing of Penobscot Bay from Northport to the island of Islesboro to support LifeFlight of Maine. With temps in the 60s, strong currents, and over 3 miles to go, this swim is no small challenge.

I have done event the last couple of years, and each time I am honored, amazed and inspired by the efforts of all the other swimmers, of Lifeflight, and this community we love in to pull off this fundraiser and raise money for this top-notch organization.

When I think about the challenge of providing lifesaving emergency medical care to Maine’s islands and many rural communities, I know how important this swim is - to us, and to people from all across Maine...

LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit organization - and it's the state’s ONLY emergency medical helicopter service. I’m SO GLAD to know that they are there for me, and for my friends and family, should the unthinkable happen to any of us.

I’m going all the way across that bay to support this important cause. Won’t you support it, too? You don’t even have to swim! Just click on the “donate” button. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

All funds raised through this event go directly to LifeFlight, toward the purchase of new helicopters to replace the two that have served the people of Maine so well for 20 years (this year is their anniversary!), transporting tens of thousands of patients.

Thanks so much for supporting my efforts, and mostly, for supporting this critically important service.

Much love,

Mish xx
